Feng Shui Your Front Door

You probably do not give the front door to your home much thought but
perhaps you should. The front door is called "The Mouth of Chi" in Feng
Shui and is the entrance way for Chi to come into your home.

Chi is the Chinese word for life force energy. You want to invite Chi into
your home and make it easy for it to enter. Positive Chi energy affects
every aspect of the home from health and happiness to abundance.

Make sure your front door is unobstructed. This is no place for dead
plants; recycle bins or clutter of any kind. If your front door is not in good
condition, you may want to consider replacing it. Also repair any broken
hardware.

If the entryway is clear, open and easy to access, Chi can enter in high quantity and positive quality. If
the front door is hidden, dark or cluttered, Chi flow can be drastically reduced.

You may want to re-paint your front door a bright, cheerful color.  Red is the Feng Shui color for
prosperity and abundance. Green is the color of nature and money. You can paint your door depending
on what direction it faces. You can use a compass to find the direction your front door faces.

South- Red, North- Dark blue or Black,  East & Southeast- Natural Wood Color, West & Northwest-
Ochre or Yellow, Southwest & Northeast- White.

Place a tall, healthy plant on either side of your front door. They should not block the entrance. Red
flowering plants are considered good for abundance. You can also hang white lights around your porch
or doorway to attract opportunities. You might even consider using solar lights on either side of your
door.

Good Feng Shui for the door includes using golden bells or chimes which attract money. You probably
have never given a second thought as to why shop owners have bells on their doors but now you
know why.

Feng Shui experts suggest installing a water fountain on the right side of your main door to bring
fortunate energy in every time you open the door. It is important to make sure the water is flowing
towards your front door which draws wealth and prosperity towards you.  Water flowing away from
your home creates the opposite effect and could cause loss of finances.

There are many ways you can improve the energy of your home using Feng Shui and I wholeheartedly
suggest you learn more about it. The weather is beautiful and it is a perfect time to work outside. Your
front door is a great place for a little home improvement project.
